Hi, is there an easier and better way to get deezer's hi-res streaming service deezer hi-go connected to a naim atom? Since hearing the reviews on the naim Atom I'm sold. But the only thing is getting the hi-res streaming service and don't want to fork out £20 a month for tidal. I'm already a deezer subscriber and am happy with it.
- Naim have managed to pack a lot of capability into this diminutive enclosure. It sounds like a Naim, which is no bad thing. The inclusion of a good remote control is a definite plus point, and the Naim control app, which has now been around for a long time, is easy to use, comprehensive and stable. NAD Masters M10 £2,199.
- Listen to Warna Merdeka by Naim Daniel on Deezer. With music streaming on Deezer you can discover more than 73 million tracks, create your own playlists, and share your favourite tracks with your friends.
- The new Mu-so still offers an optical and 3.5mm analogue stereo input but this has been augmented by an HDMI ARC connection. Provided that this is the selected input when the connected TV is turned on, the Naim will turn on at the same time and the TV volume becomes the Naim’s volume control too.
How did Tidal sound through the Naim app compared to via the Tidal app and Roon?
Tidal and Naim app sounded slightly louder, (a wee bit punchier) - they sounded the same. The input selection on the streamer indicated the source as ‘TIDAL’ when playing like this. Via Roon, slightly quieter perhaps a touch less dynamic. The streamer indicates the input as ‘Roon’.

I don’t know why that was? The inputs on the Streamer having different DB levels, the streamer’s Tidal API implementation on Naim versus Roon, Roon processing the incoming FLAC… I don’t know…
If there is a company that knows how to do all-in-one units that meet audiophile expectations, its Naim. Our review of their simple-yet-sonically-sophisticated Uniti Star was an eye (& ear) opener, and includes everything but the speaker. Their piece that offers everything including the speakers is the svelte-looking Naim Mu-So. This week the company brought even more options to the game with the introduction of their new Mu-So: Wood Edition.
While the idea of a “lifestyle” look next to the mammoth rigs of traditional audiophile systems may seem a little bit of an unusual dynamic, the use of high fidelity sonics in small spaces cannot be overlooked for a second system, especially if you are already invested in Naim’s digital ecosystem. We found the app control (same as the one used in the Naim Mu-So) to be easy to use from all sources. This includes Naim’s outstanding free high definition radio stations.
Given the stereo separation, the Naim Mu-So is intended to pair with a TV as well as the kitchen decor and does include an HDMI input. Still, with the Naim app so much wireless playback is available (including lossy Bluetooth) plus Siri voice control via Airplay 2 and “baked in” Qobuz and Tidal. Its intended to do a lot, and look good while doing it.
