The guide below will outline the process of adding a Citrix favorite and creating a desktop icon. This guide will apply if you already have Citrix Workspace installed, you are currently logged in with your DomainUsername and Password, but the Design Manager Pro icon is no longer appearing on the desktop.
Press ctrl+F2 in the citrix session. This enables keyboard shortcuts from the host system (Ubuntu). Now you can use alt+tab to switch the focus to the application you used before opening citrix (or the desktop).
If you receive a “ Socket Operation on Non-socket ” error message while attempting to connect to an Application or Desktop using Citrix Receiver for Windows 4.12, this is because the configuration on the client and/or VDA is currently un-supported. Currently Receiver 3.x is EOL, and hence it is recommended to update to latest Receiver. First, look for the minimized Citrix Workspace App running near the system clock. It resembles a blue bullseye. Right-click and choose Open
Click the + on the left of the Workspace
Select All Applications, then DM Pro Cloud. A green Check mark will appear.
This will bring the DM icon into the center of the Workspace. Clicking the DM Pro Cloud icon will launch the app.
By default, it will create an icon on your start button menu.
To create a desktop shortcut, proceed with the steps below.

Go back to the minimized Citrix Workspace, right-click and choose Advanced Preferences.

Choose Shortcuts and Reconnect, then check the box next to Show Applications on Desktop. Choose OK and the Workspace will restart, and create an icon on your desktop.

Double-click the DM icon, and it will launch as the user currently logged into the Citrix Workspace.
